What Do You Feel You Have Learnt From The Progression To The Final Product?


The first time I used the in design and Photoshop software was during the preliminary task that was set for us. For this task we had to create a newsletter / magazine for our school and I believe that since the preliminary task my skills with in design and Photoshop have increased greatly. When I first used in design I was very confused and as you can see from my preliminary task my skills using in design were very simple compared to now. Using in design during my preliminary task I wanted to get used to the different features so that I could be ready when creating my real music magazine. As you can see from my two pages the pictures I have used are not greatly edited and this is one thing I have learned since this task, now using photoshop I am able to edit pictures to make them look the best possible, one example of this is that I was able in my real magazine to use photoshop to remove backgrounds from pictures, which made my magazine look a lot more professional. Another thing I have learned since creating my prelim to now is drafting. When creating my prelim magazine I did not create draft copies which meant that my end result looks rushed and unprofessional, creating draft copies with my music magazines gave me the chance to get different peoples opinions on my magazine (my peers) and then make them changes so that it could look as good as possible

The audience of my magazine will be mainly young males aged from around 16 – 26, who are interested in the style of music that my magazine will be (Hip Hop/Pop). My magazine will be targeted at people who like such artists such as Tinie Tempah, Professor Green, Jay z, Kanye west, etc. The artists in my magazine will be similar to these. I have researched other magazines that are of a similar genre such as Mixmag and Vibe, my magazine will attract a similar audience to these magazines so I have looked at these magazines in my research and have designed my magazine with my research in mind. The audience of my magazine is not people who listen to small indie bands and is more to do with high profile artists that most people will know, hopefully this would help attract a large audience, whereas a magazine on small indie bands may not. I would also like for my magazine to attract potentially future artists so to do this I have included stories that would possibly inspire people.
